Umpires are arguably the most important people in a game of hockey. Without good umpires, an enjoyable game of hockey can become very frustrating.
Umpiring can be a very rewarding experience which will not only give you a much clearer understanding of the rules, but if you are also a player, will give you more confidence and skill to play a better, fairer game of hockey.
The club encourages its players from an early age to become involved in umpiring, and clinics are run from time to time to help improve umpiring skills. Once you have had the opportunity to put these skills into action and are confident, there is also the opportunity to become a badged umpire (of which there are several levels) through BWHA.
